R. v. J. H. Calgary Provincial Court

Soliciting a Minor: 90 days

The client was charged with soliciting a minor, s.286.1(2) whereby he was part of a sting operation for soliciting underage prostitutes. Tonii Roulston reviewed the disclosure, filed a Charter Notice with the Court challenging the legislation and alleging that the client’s Charter rights were violated and set the matter for trial. After cross-examination, Crown Prosecutor offered a sentence so the client could do an intermittent sentence on the weekends.
