R v B.S. [Lethbridge Provincial Court]

Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference with a Minor: Charges Withdrawn

The client was charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. The complainant was a minor that the client had met in a bar. The client believed that the complainant was 18 years old. Since the complainant was a minor, the client was facing a 4 year starting point jail sentence and registration as a sex offender. Tonii Roulston set the matter for trial. Before the trial began, the Crown Prosecutor agreed to enter a stay of proceedings on all charges. The client has no conviction and no criminal record.
