R v J.J. [Lethbridge Provincial Court]

Aggravated Assault (Domestic): Conditional Discharge

The client was charged with four offences under the Criminal Code including uttering threats, aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault, after it was alleged that the client choked the complainant during an altercation. The client had a prior criminal record for related offences and was concerned about receiving a jail sentence. Tonii Roulston met with the Crown to discuss the file, as a result the client pled guilty to only one charge of assault and received a conditional discharge. The remaining three counts were withdrawn. The client will have no criminal record for the offence.
