Defence lawyers grill star Crown witness in murder conspiracy case

Lawyers for three men accused of conspiring to murder a rival gang member peppered the Crown’s star witness with questions on Monday.

Defence lawyers Adriano Iovinelli, Tonii Roulston and Gavin Wolch spent the day asking the witness, identifiable only by the pseudo-initials A.B., about his role as a police agent in a sting against their clients.

Iovinelli suggested any conversation in which the killing of FK gang member “Fat” Vinh Truong was discussed was simply “s— talk.”

The lawyer asked whether wiretapped conversations may have involved discussions to go punch Truong in the face.
