Man jailed 7 years for role in violent Calgary kidnapping, $400,000 ransom demand

Taking part in the violent kidnapping for ransom of a Calgary man where crooks demanded a $400,000 payment has landed an Edmonton man a seven-year prison term.

Jason Jared Patterson pleaded guilty Friday for his part in the kidnapping of a city man outside his northwest residence.

Reading from a statement of agreed facts signed by Patterson and his lawyer, Andrea Urquhart, Crown prosecutor Shane Parker detailed the offender’s involvement in the abduction of Jason Daley.
