Officer fired 10 shots at fleeing Jeep after shotgun discharged into the air, court hears

When Const. Christopher Harris saw a shotgun muzzle flash from a vehicle fleeing a reported home invasion, he felt public safety was at risk and potentially deadly force was required, he told a Calgary courtroom Wednesday.

As a result, the seven-year member of the Calgary Police Service fired 10 shots from his C8 Carbine assault rifle at the departing Jeep SUV.
