Our client was out drinking with a group of friends. The complainant’s group of friends started arguing with the client’s group, leading to a fight between the parties. The client was seen punching the complainant in the face and knocking him to the ground, leading to the client being charged with assault. Tonii Roulston was able to establish issues with the complainant’s credibility as well as a Charter issue. Tonii negotiated with the Crown, resulting in a peace bond for the client. The client was not convicted and avoided a criminal record.
