Brian joined Roulston Urquhart in July of 2025 after graduating from the University of Calgary. Brian has worked on a variety of criminal matters including assault, sexual assault, domestic violence, drug-related offences, firearms offences, and a’ Mr. Big’ undercover operation.

Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Law & Society, with a double minor in philosophy and business management from the University of Calgary in 2016. He obtained his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary in 2025.

While in Law School, Brian was heavily involved with Student Legal Assistance (SLA), where he supported low-income and marginalized individuals in criminal, family, civil, and traffic matters. His tenure at SLA allowed him to practice and hone his oral advocacy, and research and writing skills. Brian compassionately and zealously advocated for his clients, much of whom were suffering from mental illness, poverty, and addiction. Brian was the first student at SLA to secure a voluntary expert witness, which resulted in the Crown withdrawing the charges against the client. Additionally, Brian was the recipient of the Access to Justice Award for his graduating class of 2025. This award is given to a graduating student as recognition of their current involvement and continued dedication to providing representation to clients in public interest law, such as criminal defence, family, and civil law.

Brian has worked for multiple lawyers prior to beginning his articles at Roulston Urquhart, including at a criminal defence firm and for a civil litigator.
