Kirsten Lancee defended JW against multiple allegations of domestic violence. At trial, the Crown
attempted to adjourn the trial as the complainant was not present. Kirsten argued that there was no
evidence that the Darville test was satisfied and asked the Court to decline the Crown’s request. The Court
agreed and refused to grant the adjournment. The Crown called no evidence in their case and JW was
acquitted of all counts.
